Achieving the Ethics in Business Award (2007) has had an enormous effect on our business, not the least of which is the pride and respect of our entire staff in the company.  Being recognized and honored for our business philosophy, which is the pursuit of excellence in all we do, is a huge award and we are proud to incorporate the Business Ethics logo in all of our advertising and sales presentations.

Winning the award has definitely encouraged all of us from management level down to continue to stay on task and keep the standard high for operating our business in an ethical manner.  Each day we're faced with decisions that involved ethical issues, so we must continue to be vigilant.

We definitely use the award in sales & marketing in a big way.  We have won each of the top three national homebuilding awards available in our industry.  We always include mention of the Charlotte Ethics in Business Award in conjunction with the other three due to the non-industry specific nature of the award, the local implications, and the third party nomination process.

We definitely feel that it has contributed to a positive view of our company, especially considering some of the negative press associated with other custom building companies in Charlotte.  The timing couldn't have been better for us to have received this award recognizing our commitment to ethical business practices!!

Of all the awards our company has been honored with, the Ethics In Business Award is the one of which we are most proud because it affirms that the simple things we take for granted are important.  Things like fairness, helping other struggling companies, taking the honorable route when there are options, and treating those inside and outside our company with respect.  Although we did not promote the fact that we received this remarkable honor, word did, somehow spread.  We heard from clients, business associates, new companies who wanted to do business with us.  Trade magazines in our industry picked up the news item, so we were recognized among our peers.  It's an award we are grateful for, and which all of us at Southern Shows will continue to cherish.
