CALL FOR 2008 NOMINATIONS

The Charlotte Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals is accepting nominations for the 2008 Charlotte Ethics in Business Award. Nominations are being sought from Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Lincoln, Union, and Gaston counties.

The award recognizes businesses that demonstrate a commitment to ethical business practices in everyday operations, management philosophies, response to challenges, treatment of employees and to involvement in civic and environmental concerns. Local recipients will be recognized at an awards luncheon on April 17, 2008. Elaine Marshall, Secretary of State of North Carolina, is this year’s keynote speaker.

In its eighth year locally, the award is sponsored by the Society of Financial Service Professionals in partnership with Duke Energy, Better Business Bureau, WBT Radio and WBTV, Belk College of Business Administration at UNC Charlotte, Queens University of Charlotte, Johnson C. Smith University, and ClickCom.

Previous local award winners include Piedmont Natural Gas, Premier, Inc., Donald Haack Diamonds, General Dynamics Armament, National Gypsum, The Deck Company, Archadeck of Charlotte, Autobell Car Wash, Duke Energy, Belk, Inc., The Keith Corporation, Morris-Jenkins Company, Goodrich Corp., Rogers Builders, Simonini Builders, Medcath, Allvac Metals, Morningstar Storage, InfoVision, Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein, Southern Shows, Inc. and Fresh Holdings, Inc.

Businesses may be nominated in three categories: Large (more than 1,500 employees), Mid-sized (101-1,499 employees) and Small (fewer than 100 employees). A client, employee, vendor or private citizen who is impressed with the company's ethical business conduct may nominate a business.
